Etsy Holiday Gift Guide | Shop Small

Welcome to holiday gift guide number two! This week’s theme? Shop small! I spent this week digging through my favorite online marketplace, Etsy*, for makers and artisans who create beautiful things that are perfect for gifting. I absolutely love supporting small businesses when I can, and the fact that you shop a TON of them on one site is an amazing. Thanks, Etsy!

(*** Psst! Did you miss last week’s gift guide with all of my favorite modern home decor finds under $50? Click on over here to take a look! ***)

Since Etsy is a huge marketplace made up of individual shops, I know it can feel completely overwhelming to dig through and find exactly what you want. Where do you even start? Well, in my experience, the more specific you can be with your search terms, the better your results will be. So if you’re looking for a handmade planter, don’t just put “planter” as your keyword, type in something like “modern hanging planter.” You can also use the menu that runs along the side of your search to narrow your results by price, location, shipping speed, etc.

As you’re shopping, if you find particular vendors you love, be sure to favorite them so you can find them easily later! I have a whole bunch saved for everything from pillow makers to artists. It’s really helpful to be able to refer back to those in the future.

All right! With that little intro, head on down and to see what I’ve rounded up for this gift guide. Like last week, I added a little bit of color commentary about each item so you’ll have a better sense of what you’re looking at and you can click each link to item to head to the listing. If you don’t see the perfect gift in the roundup itself, use it as a starting point and head over to the shop to see what else they have! Each of the shops had a bunch of pieces I liked.

Finally, since these folks aren’t your typical big box retailers, be sure to check out their turnaround times for the holidays to make sure you’ll get your gift in time! If you have questions, you can always message the seller.

“Shop Small” Etsy Holiday Gift Guide

Looking to support small businesses with your gift giving this holiday season? I’ve got you covered! You’ll find everything from art to stocking stuffers, tabletop and kitchen pieces to iphone stands with planters in this gift guide! \\ #2018holiday…

Concrete Utensil Holder / Wine Chiller: Everybody needs a good crock for their cooking utensils, right? What if it doubled as a wine chiller? Well, this one is both of those and it’s beautiful too! This shop has all kinds of great pieces made out of concrete that are perfect for a modern or industrial home.

White Ceramic Hanging Planter with Leather Strap: Y’all know I love a good planter, and I loved the shape of this one and its leather strap. It’s neutral enough to go just about anywhere and would look great housing a trailing plant like a pothos or philodendron.

Hand-Printed Dish & Hand Towels: I thought this set of modern tea towels was really cute and they look like they’d be super absorbent. This shop carries much more than tea towels though - they have clothing, paper goods, tote bags too! All of it is focused on simple, modern design, and everything is hand-printed in the U.S.

Plaid Winter Pillow and Green Leaf Chenille Pillow: This shop has some of the best fabrics for pillows (these are just two examples!). It’s one of my go-tos for clients and we recently collaborated with the owner, Jessica on a few pillows for my RV project. She was fabulous to work with and I can’t recommend her shop enough.

Terrazzo Coaster Set: Terrazzo had a serious moment this year and I’ll admit, I really wasn’t into it, BUT these coasters made me realize that it’s actually really fun in small doses! These absorbent ceramic coasters would be a perfect little stocking stuffer or hostess gift.

City Skyline Art Print: Gifting something with a personal touch is a way to go the extra mile and I love the idea of a gift that reminds that person of a special place. The city skyline prints from this shop are unique and modern, and definitely aren’t the typical touristy version. Whether it’s where that person is from, where they went to school, or where they got married, giving that person a visible reminder of that place is a super thoughtful gift. (P.S. I had to give a shoutout to Philadelphia of course, but they have a ton of cities to choose from!)

Campfire Enameled Mug (Customizable!): Have someone in your life that loves the outdoors, camping, or adventure? This shop is for them. The mugs I shared here are so fun, but they have tons of other options as well, and many can be personalized.

Ceramic Phone Dock, Planter, & Pen Holder: I loved this multi-functional piece from the moment I laid eyes on it. Not only is it a charging station, but it holds some pens and a cute plant! It’s perfect for an office, atop an entryway console, or anywhere you typically charge your phone. It’s beautiful enough to sit out anywhere!

Leather Ribbon Modern Key Ring: Here’s another good stocking stuffer for you. Everybody has keys, so why not put them on a cute key ring? There are a variety of colors to choose from, and at $6, you can pick one up for everybody on your list.

Poppies Melamine Tray: Can you ever have enough trays? I don’t think so! I thought this one with its Scandinavian-inspired poppy design was adorable and it comes in a couple of sizes as well. They also carry other adorable, colorful household items in similar styles so if you’re looking for more ideas, be sure to take a spin through the rest of the shop.

Personalized Zippered Pouch / Makeup Bag: This is another shop with some really cute prints that come on a variety of different textiles and accessories. If you’re looking for a colorful and modern bag, clutch, or pouch, you’re in the right spot. You can even have them personalized with a subtle leather monogram!

Minimalist Modern Cereal Bowl - Sand: Convivial Production, one of my favorite ceramics businesses, just released this new Sand collection and it’s stunning! This bowls are just one of the items. Their all-white ceramic pieces are gorgeous as well and the Sand line is a great complement to those.

Abstract Watercolor Art Print: Are you into gorgeous watercolor pieces with a feminine touch? I’ve got you covered! Yao Cheng carries a variety of pieces printed with her beautiful art - from tea towels to cards to (of course) art prints. I love all of her work.

Want to shop these pieces quickly and easily? Use the graphic below! Hover over the item and click the little black “plus” sign to head straight to the listing. If you’re on a feed reader or getting this in your inbox, you’ll need to click over to the full site to use it.
