Wood Frame Accent Chairs at All Price Points

I love a good wood frame accent chair. They’re great for when you want an airier look, need a chair that’s more petite, or want to balance a heavier piece of furniture. The work well in pairs or as a single chair too.

Since I use them often in my e-design projects and I’ve had a pair in my own home (above), I thought it was high time I shared some favorites with you too! You can use them as the accent chairs in your living room or even as a corner chair in a bedroom.

A few characteristics to consider when you’re shopping for a wood accent chair are:

  • Size: Take a look at the overall dimensions as well as the seat height. Some of these chairs sit lower to the ground than average and you want your seat height to be within a couple of inches of the other seating (like a sofa or sectional). Check the back height too to make sure it’ll be comfortable for you. It’s not always listed - sometimes you have to do some math by subtracting the seat height from the overall height.

  • Wood Tone: As you can see in my roundup, you’ll find a lot of variation in wood tone for the frames. You’ve got everything from a natural light wood to a darker walnut. Since the wood is a significant part of the look, be sure it meshes well with the other wood tones in the room. They don’t need to match, but they should complement one another!

  • Fabric: When possible, get a swatch! This applies to all upholstery, but I’m mentioning it here as well. It’s always worth asking customer service, even if isn’t obvious on the website. That way, you can touch and feel it in person, and ensure that it works well with the rest of the colors in your space.

Now let’s take a look at the ones I pulled for your browsing pleasure!
